Flameworking Fundamentals
Available in Private and Partner Sessions
Full day class - 6hrs or 2 ½ day sessions -3hrs each
Flameworking is a small scale version of glassblowing. Students are seated at a bench with a small torch flame that’s used for melting rods of different coloured glass. The work is intricate and detailed - perfect for creating glass jewelry or small sculptural items.
Learn the fundamentals of beadmaking with Melody in a 1 on 1 session or take the class with a friend. Students will acquire the foundations needed to work independently on their own creations, and the marbles and glass beads are yours to keep!
Topics covered include:
overview of safety, tools and equipment
how to make a basic bead
shaping beads
decorating with dots
creating stringers and twisties
decorating with stringer and feathering
decorating with gold/silver leaf
making marbles
encasing beads
